Brick/Stone Cleaning & Paint Removal

From paint removal to carbon and algae removal. Exterior building cleaning should be carried out by experienced contractors, who understand the different systems that are required for cleaning different substrates for long term benefit, rather than short term. Water supply and water wash disposal must meet local authority regulations.

A site survey should be carried out to determine why areas of the building may be more heavily stained than others, blocked gutters and downpipes may have to be cleared/repaired prior to cleaning and any areas of efflorescence will need to be treated to avoid return.

Algae, moss and biological growth is usually best cleaned with low pressure high temperature water to kill off the biological spores to prevent pre-mature regrowth. If necessary, a chemical will be applied to hold back regrowth for longer term benefits.

Carbon build up and pollution stains require a different approach as heat will not remove or break down the deposits, so we have a media gentle wash system, poultice and chemical treatments to clean these stubborn areas without causing damage to the often-delicate stone, render and brickwork.

The company director, Nigel Wilmshurst has over 25 years of experience working with all combinations of coatings and substrates, often called upon to carry out samples for other companies to determine the best possible solution.
